Changing Course

Neon first partnered with founder Sean Burke to build CheckingIn – an intuitive application that boosts mental health and wellbeing in just minutes a day. As the platform gained traction with organizations, HR leaders, and PeopleOps professionals, Sean chose to pivot the core business model from B2C to B2B. We overhauled the website to demonstrate how CheckingIn effectively supports both teams and individuals, while delivering a measurable return on investment for a wide range of employers.

Where science meets strategy

Our challenge: To develop an aesthetic style that would speak to organizations without alienating individual consumers. The messaging also needed to balance team and personal benefits, and distill evidence-based science into spare, engaging copy. CheckingIn is a deceptively simple product; the clean interface belies proven strategies, flexible tools, and a complete monthly program for organizations of all shapes and sizes. There was a lot to pack into a few screens.

Wellbeing from every angle

Our team established a calm visual style with tones that convey comfort and security. Color gradients add depth to each page, and the line-based illustrations ensure a welcoming vibe. The new product tagline and concise web copy clarify the offering without overwhelming site visitors. Striking the right tone was essential. CheckingIn offers a judgment-free space where people can privately process their emotions; the website should also express empathy without making assumptions or imposing artificial positivity.

A brand that supports the business

The revamped site aligns the business mission with the revised target market. It also supports a wider funnel marketing approach with a clear value proposition. Sean began the pivot from B2C to B2B as the Covid-19 pandemic emerged, but the visual identity, website, and brand collateral had yet to embody this successful shift. Now, CheckingIn has a distinctive platform to support deeper sales conversations, expand awareness, and drive growth and acquisitions.
