Preserve the memories of a lifetime
KnowMe equips people to capture, organize, and share their treasured memories with close friends and family members. Founders Steve Shillingford and Ken Saunders built KnowMe as a private "life platform" where users can upload everything from ticket stubs to playlists, with permanent control over their data. We partnered with Ken and Steve to tighten security protocols and enhance the digital user experience – giving this meaningful product a strong foundation for continuous growth.
A more intuitive experience
Most people have at least one box filled with birthday cards, old photos, journals, pins, and other jumbled mementos. As these artifacts gather dust, many of us share day-to-day experiences, big and small, on social media platforms that can sell and even delete our digital memories at any time. Steve and Ken created a private, permanent, multi-media alternative, but they needed development and UX support. After completing a detailed audit, we highlighted several core changes that would make the product more intuitive and easier to use.
Enhanced data protection and privacy
Our team rebuilt the underlying infrastructure to ensure KnowMe can easily scale to support more users. We also enhanced security protocols with full data encryption and network firewall protection. Turning to the UX, we streamlined the onboarding flows, and applied design best practices to improve Moments, which are the core building blocks within KnowMe. The product supports all multimedia formats including photo, video, text, audio, links, GIFs, and some third-party integrations.
Support for sustainable growth
Our collaborative partnership prepared KnowMe for its MVP release in the App Store. The freemium business model will include a paid product version, but basic features will always remain free – and will never allow ads, data harvesting, or censorship. With airtight data protection, KnowMe is poised to scale its product offering to a wider user base, while upholding the twin brand promises of privacy and personal control.
